In this self paced online workshop I will lead you on an artistic journey.

I welcome you into my studio in a series of video lessons as I lead you through my step-by-step process for creating a series of abstract treescape paintings on cradled wood panels. From gathering shape and pattern inspiration to how I make and record color choices, we’ll dive into collage and painted layers together using acrylic and gouache paint.

You'll be there every step of the way, for all the details and evolution of 3 luscious layered paintings, I’ll share all my behind the scenes knowledge and specific favorite supplies over years of painting.

We’ll talk in depth about all the elements of what makes a successful composition. We’ll get lost in the rich process together, from beginnings to final details, join me for this amazing layered adventure!

What Supplies will I need for this course?

I recommend to all my students that you start with what you have on hand already, you never need the exact supplies that I use. This course is entirely "self paced" and I go into a lot of detail about my specific favorite supplies in the lessons. I recommend that you watch everything through and then decide about purchasing new supplies that you are excited to try out.

Supplies that I use in the lessons for this class:

In this class I'll create a series of 3 paintings on 10 x 10 inch cradled wood panels. You can use any substrate surface that you enjoy working on, stretched canvas or wood panels is fine!

I also use..... 

• collage paper: any kind, I particularly enjoy origami paper and catalogues that come to my house for free :)

• mod podge adhesive

• The paint brushes that I use in this course are: Princeton Series 4000 Synthetic Sable Brushes and Simply Simmons Synthetic Bristle Brushes.

• heavy bodied acrylic paint

• holbein acryla gouache paint

• sharpie fine tip and extra fine tip acrylic paint markers

• montana acrylic paint markers

• oil pastels

• charcoal pencil

For my studio set up I always have a jar or two for water, paper towels or rags, and a paint palette.
